BassFans will remember the winter wonderland Tulsa, Okla., turned into on the final day of practice for this year's Bassmaster Classic. If not, here's a refresher. And another. The snow and sleet mix actually prompted B.A.S.S. to pull the anglers off the water an hour earlier than planned.
The frigid weather was a huge storyline during the Classic at Grand Lake and this week, a cool-off around Shreveport, La., has some people's attention for the Forrest Wood Cup. After a string of wicked-hot days with heat indexes registering well over 100 degrees, a front moved through Tuesday (the final practice day) and has brought a thick canopy of clouds with it today. It sprinkled on and off yesterday and it looks like more rain could fall at any moment.
Daytime highs for the tournament are supposed to top out in the high 80s or low 90s with overnight lows dipping down into the 60s, an unseasonable cool snap that may or may not affect the fishing. Still not quite parka weather, though.
